Looking good
I never realized that looking good means I have to be light skinned.
Got to get the cream now…

Sania Mania
Well Sania Mizra might be the first Indian women to reach 42nd rank in women’s tennis, but I feel like the media is hyping this up a lot more than it should. I totally understand how difficult it is to reach a level like this at the age of 18 and that too from a country where sports is not given that much importance. I totally give credit to her, but I am just getting sick of seeing her everywhere.
Where ever I turn Sania is there. Go outside you will see Sania holding a phone (advertisement for a phone company). Turn on the TV and she is there in all the ads, read the news paper and she is there in the front page and full page news on the sport section. I am totally sick and tired of seeing her in everyplace and the hype the media is adding.
Yesterday she played against Maria Sharapova. The first news in the paper was “Its Sania Mania as she takes on 2nd seed Sharapova”. I mean is this news worthy to be in the first news in the first page?? I just don’t get it and then you go to the sports section and you see a big picture of her 3/4 of the page is a picture of her and more news about the match. May be if she has won the match, then I might be able to understand. But just the match was so much hyped. I wonder what might have happened if she actually won the match?
Why is the media hyping it up so much? Or may be I am the only person who feels that way. And then everyone wonders why people are behaving this way
‘"We were shocked with a few incidents back home. Mohammed Kaif's home was stoned; (Rahul) Dravid's car was smashed. These things should not happen," he said’ link from rediff news
This is what happened when the Indian Cricket team did not perform well in the world cup. When the media is hyping everything they just sit quiet because it favors the player. Then when things turn around they are shocked!!
I should be happy that they haven’t built a temple for Sania Mirza yet.

Internet Connection – Bangalore
They call Bangalore ‘Silicon Valley of India’. How easy it is to get Internet connection in the ‘Silicon valley of India’??? As soon as I moved here (“The Silicon Valley of India”) I got a connection from a local player and it was the worst connection you can have. I never had the connection. So I started to shop around for a good internet provider.
How easy it is to get Internet connection in the ‘Silicon valley of India’???
Tata Indicom Group
Tata Indicom group has a turnover of 14.25 billon US dollars and they have 222000 employees. I called these people for a broadband connection, now what can you expect from a BIG player? They send a representative to my house for surveying (to make sure that they can give me a connection), and the representative told me that if I pay the installation charges they will start the work and in max 3 weeks I should have my connection. Well why will it take 3 weeks? This is Tata Indicom. I paid the money and it has been more than two months and I haven’t got my connection or my money back. If you are living in a really nice complex, then yes Tata Indicom will be concerned about the connection but if you are normal man, they don’t give a shit. I have made three complains against them so far and no result. If you know some MD or VP’s email-id of this company please let me know, I want to complain at the top level.
Airtel broadband
This is another big player. It’s the same deal with the big player, if you are living in a nice complex with 500 houses then yeah they need you as a customer, but if you are living in complex with 10 houses. They don’t give a shit. They have a billion people to serve and leaving 10 houses here and there is totally ok. The Airtel representative came and took money for installation and never saw him again for a month. After repeated phone calls they gave me my money back. At least they gave me my money, so I am guessing they must be better than Tata Indicom.
Local Players
The connection I had was from a local player and it was the worst connection I ever had. I never had connection and I have called their call center at least 100 times in the 2 and half month I had the connection. The only thing they do is send someone to ask for money. I mean you are asking for money for what? I never had the connection and why should I pay you? I paid a month’s service charge in advance that should cover for the connection I had in the two and half months. And who is going to pay for the 100 phone calls I made and the time I had to spend with these idiots??
Hathway
Finally three days back I called up Hathway. The next day they installed the cable and yesterday I got my connection. What the hell?? I can’t believe either. How come Hathway was able to give a connection in two day when Tata Group couldn’t be reached and Airtel couldn’t get me a connection? I am not going to get too excited about Hathway either. This is India you can’t expect too much here.
Welcome to the ‘Silicon Valley of India’ where you got to go thru so much to get an freakin internet connection.

Got someone fired
And I don’t feel bad about it.
I wanted to buy a car and thought I will get a second hand car. (A year or two year old one ). After running around for two weeks finally managed to find one which I liked. Luckily just before giving them the money I thought I will take it to the company for a check-up. They told me that the vehicle was an accident vehicle. Unless you know the person who is selling the car or you should be a expert in cars, its not worth to take the risk of buying a second hand car, so I decided to go for a new one.
I went to a Maruti showroom and looked at a Maruti Alto, kind of liked it. I told the sales person that I will think about it. This sales guy was calling me trice everyday to find out if I have made up my mind. Finally went and booked the car. As soon as I walked inside I told the sales person, that he need to tell me the exact date of when he can deliver the car (Is this too much to ask?). I told him even if he needs two weeks that’s fine but he needs to deliver the car on time. He told me that he will deliver it in two days.
Well one week passed by everyday I have to call them up and they will ask me to come to the showroom in the evening and once I reach the showroom they will give me reason why they were not able to deliver. I got totally frustrated and I went to the showroom and I told them that I wanted to cancel my booking and finally the manager got involved and he told me that he will throw in a central locking system free, and he didn’t want me to cancel the deal. Well since I was getting something free I thought I will take it and give them some time.
Another week passed by and nothing happened. Finally after lots of phone calls they told me to bring the cash and they will release the vehicle and when I reached the showroom they told me that they couldn’t register the vehicle that day so they can’t deliver it.
I was totally frustrated by now. Some how my brother got hold of the General Managers phone no. and he called the GM and told him exactly what was going on. The GM asked my brother to give the phone to the manager. After the phone call the manager told us that he will release the vehicle that day itself.
I got the vehicle, but I was totally pissed off about the customer service and the process they had and I wanted to do something. But I was not sure if they will take any action, since no one seems to be doing their job. After a week someone from the showroom called me to take my feedback. Her question was
“How was you experience buying a car from us?”
And my answer was
“It was horrible.”
And I told her everything from the beginning. She stopped for a moment and started typing everything I told her. She told me that she will get back to me in a week.
A week later the sales person called me and asked me if I made any complain against him. I told him that I did complain but against the entire process and not against anyone in particular. Because of the complain his incentive got cut and they fired another guy.
I was pretty impressed. And I am going to do my part from now on, it doesn’t matter if anyone is going to take action or not. I will do my part. That will be complaining.
Well customer service suck here, here are the complains I got to make
1. Tata Indicom (these guys took more than 20 days to activate my land line)
2. The doctor. (this guys took a lot of money for consulting but he spend less than a min on me. He didn’t even allow me to ask any question. If he is so freakin busy then he shouldn’t be consulting)
3. The ISP guys. (I keep complaining that my internet gets dropped all the time, no action has been take so far)
No Idea which all are going to be taken seriously, but I am going to do my part.
